Mini-MBA for Entrepreneurs by TiE Institute at TiEcon Delhi 2011

TiE Institute we will be hosting a series of sessions/workshops @TiEcon Delhi and will be a Mini- MBA of sorts for entrepreneurs covering critical aspects in areas such as accounting, marketing, finance, HR and company law etc. The sessions will address critical challenges and issues faced by most entrepreneurs anddeliver practical and tangible insights.

The TiE Institute sessions will seek to address questions such as: How do I read the balance sheet my CA has prepared, and what parts should I pay attention to? Or I want to start selling at a zero budget, how can I do it? How do I attract talent when I cannot afford to pay? How do I structure performance appraisals and compensation?

TiE Institute was started a couple of months ago and has seen considerable traction and engagement within the TiE community. The endeavor of the TiE Institute sessions at TiEcon Delhi is to cover tangible, specific subjects of daily interest to entrepreneurs, something they cannot obtain elsewhere, and provide detailed information and practical tips from practitioners. Each session will be conducted by a panel of experienced VCs, entrepreneurs, angel investors and domain experts.

FINANCE:
101: Finance Management
Finance management for entrepreneurs covering reading balance sheets, basics of taxation, deciphering key financial ratios.

HUMAN RESOURCES:
101: Human Resource Management
HR for entrepreneurs covering employee satisfaction (recruitment, motivation, and retention) while keeping costs low. Managing performance appraisals and compensation.
